Comparison

DeSnipperaar vs PreZero: national waste processor or local destruction specialist?

PreZero is a large, nationally operating player in waste management and recycling. In the Netherlands the company grew out of SUEZ Nederland. Confidential paper is one of many waste streams within a broad package, alongside product destruction among other things. DeSnipperaar does exactly one thing: destroy confidential documents and data. On paper the two overlap, because you can hand over your archive to either. Yet they are different types of provider. This comparison places the facts side by side so you can choose what fits your situation.

PreZero profile

  • Certification: CA+ accreditation, shredding to DIN 66399-2 at security class P-3.
  • Guarantees: confidential paper goes into secured, closed containers, is collected by VOG-screened drivers, transported in secured vehicles, not touched by hand anywhere in the process and shredded into small, unreadable particles.
  • Business-focused.

P-3 versus P-5, and waste contract versus one-off job

Two differences are factual and worth stating plainly. The first is about the shredding result. PreZero shreds confidential paper to DIN 66399-2 at security class P-3. DeSnipperaar works at P-5. P-5 is a higher security level with smaller particles, which suits documents holding special personal data such as citizen service numbers and medical files. This is not a judgement on PreZero, because P-3 is a regular and certified class that is appropriate for many business documents. It is a factual difference in security level, which becomes relevant as soon as you handle sensitive data.

The second difference is the model. At PreZero confidential paper is embedded in a broader waste and container contract. That is a strong choice when you already work with PreZero or want to place a national, ongoing waste stream with one provider. At DeSnipperaar the destruction itself is the core, not an add-on to a waste contract. We collect sealed and have it destroyed off-site within 24 hours, with a certificate per job, with no container emptied on a frequency and no subscription. That suits anyone clearing out occasionally or wanting a fixed price known up front.
